{"id":376,"date":"2011-08-25T00:01:04","date_gmt":"2011-08-25T04:01:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.eatcooklive.com\/?p=376"},"modified":"2011-08-25T12:26:20","modified_gmt":"2011-08-25T16:26:20","slug":"asiago-stella","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eatcooklive.com\/?p=376","title":{"rendered":"Asiago Stella"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_377\" style=\"width: 235px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.eatcooklive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Asiago-Stella.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-377\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-377\" style=\"margin: 5px;\" title=\"Asiago Stella\" src=\"http:\/\/www.eatcooklive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Asiago-Stella-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.eatcooklive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Asiago-Stella-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.eatcooklive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Asiago-Stella-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.eatcooklive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Asiago-Stella.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-377\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Asiago Stella<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Ah cheese. \u00c2\u00a0It&#8217;s been way to long since I wrote about a new cheese. \u00c2\u00a0On my train ride home today I decided to change that.<\/p>\n<p>My main goal was to find something I could put on a salad. \u00c2\u00a0I stopped by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unionmarket.com\/index.php\/stores\/stores-seventh-avenue\">Union Market<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0and scanned maybe 10\u00c2\u00a0varieties\u00c2\u00a0of\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0blue&#8230; not what I was in the mood for tonight. \u00c2\u00a0Then I found something that I hadn&#8217;t seen before: \u00c2\u00a0Asiago Stella. \u00c2\u00a0(Well I&#8217;ve seen Asiago cheese, but it was always hard as rock or dust, not like the softer, moist looking block before me.) \u00c2\u00a0I wasn&#8217;t sure about it, but, when I realized that it was about half the price of most of the others, I decided I had to give it a try.<\/p>\n<p>It actual turned out to not be great for eating on its own&#8211;a little bit dense and a little mild. \u00c2\u00a0But it was prefect on the salad. \u00c2\u00a0 It has a some what savory nutty flavor and when cut into about quarter inch cube it add a nice dimension of flavor to a salad with some amazing little heirloom tomatoes, some cucumber, and a bit of carrot (all from a co-worker&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.localharvest.org\/csa\/\">CSA<\/a>).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ah cheese. \u00c2\u00a0It&#8217;s been way to long since I wrote about a new cheese. \u00c2\u00a0On my train ride home today I decided to change that.
